Hubby's Lookin' Good

My hubby is preparing for his next show. It's been about a year and a half since his last one and he is looking damn good. Just three weeks ago, he was approximately 190lbs. Today, he's 172lbs. Amazing! Of course, he's dropping weight to lean up for the show. Afterwards, he'll put some of it back on again. It's a good thing because he's planning on dropping another ten pounds and at that weight, he'll look like a little boy.

The most noticeable aspect of his weight loss is the definition in his abs. I feel like I could grate cheese on them. Awesome! He's really so wonderful at all of this. I wish he were able to do his training full-time without the need for his regular job. I keep hoping that, rather than us taking out business loans that put us in hock up to our ears, some wonderful benefactor will come, put his/her faith in my hubby, and invest in the future. Here's to dreaming that day will come!

Strange and Unusual

My hubby has been sick for the past few days. It's quite the oddity in the house to see him hacking and croaking. He never gets sick (except every few years). I feel really bad for him because I know it's hindering him from doing all that he wants. I basically took care of the entire household last night while he struggled to talk and breathe. It was a stressful day and a reminder of just how much he does around here. I hope he recuperates quickly.

I think the astronomical weirdness before the eclipse had an effect on people, and not a good one. I really feel like they all went extra stupid a couple of days ago and it culminated, yesterday. Perhaps I'm just jaded...but I can't help but think that the planets and satellites really do have an effect on the earth-folk. If the moon can pull the tides, what the heck is it doing to us 80% bags of water?!

I took my eldest to see the Spider.wick Chronicles last Friday. She was so excited because late last year, we read the books together (the books are wonderful, by the way). The movie? Not so wonderful. Oh, there are neat special effects and the acting is decent, but the heart of the stories is missing. There was a tenderness that never found it's way onto the big screen and it's definitely too bad. The babe's opinion? "It was good until the scary parts." She also commented on how different the movie was from the books. She was waiting for things just like I was. I haven't checked professional reviewers opinions yet (but will make sure I do).

Everything else is pretty normal. I didn't do anything special on V-day, but I did spend quality time with hubby. That's all I ever really want, anyway. He's got six weeks until his next show and he's down to almost no carbs. I hope that his sweet, pitiful, sickly disposition doesn't turn into a monster-man because of it. I know how I am when there's not enough sugar in my diet.

Happy Romance/Big Heart/Valentine's Day

My holiday started last night when hubby got in the shower and I put my towel on the side of the bathtub to get in with him. I ususally finish first, so when it was time to get out, I grabbed my towel and out fell something sparkly. A lovely crystal, pendant necklace! I will wear it today with my V-day "look at me" dress.

Drying off, I hung up my towel and went into the bed room to put on pajamas (normally, I don't wear them, but it was freezing cold last night! Another snow storm. Will they ever end?!) Anyway, the pjs are under the pillow and, oops! Out fell a velveteen box. Amethyst earrings and matching necklace, anyone? Beautiful! Why give me these things last night? Well, some brilliant person in my office decided that our full staff meeting would be great to have today. So, I gotta stay late and I won't be home until after normal reservation hours for couples with kids. Ugh! He wanted to be sure I had something to brag about today. ;)

I got him a small, square basket filled with a variety. He's been having a helluva time with dry skin, so I got him extra special water-based lotion (that cost a pretty penny), a loofah sponge (for exfoliation of said dead/dry skin), 70% dark cocoa, gourmet chocolate, a french vanilla candle, a movie and an essential soul 2-disk collection of romantic tunes. Lastly, a book of poetry for the romantic in him. He was very happy.

My girls? The babe (who hasn't awakened yet) is getting a cute little red mailbox with hair accessories and Russel Stovers candies inside. I also got her a Hannah Mon.tana night gown. Her dad found the Meet My.ley Cyr.us disk for super cheap, somewhere, so she's getting that from him. It's all on the kitchen table waiting for her to discover. Indy has her very first heart-box of chocolate. Trust me, she'll be on cloud nine when she sees it (even though she doesn't get nearly what her sister has gotten). Two year-olds are so easy to please.

We were up last night, putting together the Valentine's day cards for her class room. She has hit the age where now she wants certain people to get certain things (i.e., her crush got the big Valentine's day card). Each card has a candy bracelet with it that the kids can sugar load on through the day. Even Indy is taking Sponge B.ob treats to daycare. Oh, the sugar...the love. If this isn't a commercial holiday, I don't know what is. Who, cares. Enjoy the chocolate!

So Very Tired

I've been keeping some odd hours, lately, and it has me feeling a cynlinder short. I've got to get better at going to bed on time. The funny thing is that I sort of did get to bed at a decent hour, last night (approximately 9:15pm), but hubby and I were arguing and I think going to bed knowing he was irritated and I was irritated made for not-so-healthful sleep. We're becoming a bit short-tempered with each other again and I'm not sure why. Things have been on the up and up for a while now. I guess I took for granted how well things were going that I didn't perceive any further bumps along the road (which of course, there are always going to be).

This new plan he has me on does exactly what it's supposed to do. I'm dropping weight again, I'm tightening up and size 10s and 8s are my new best friends. It's also having many more internal effects that I imagined. We splurged on Sunday (A&W triple Papa Burger, anyone) and Monday morning, I felt like someone had backed over me with their car. Ugh, just nasty! My stomach was boiling, I was really gassy and I just didn't feel like myself. By the time I had finished working out (45 minutes on the elliptical), I felt worlds better and by the end of the day (several meals of low carbs, veggies and protein), I was me again. Who would've thought! I guess I'm getting adjusted to this "clean" way of eating.

My girls are growing up so fast. I was looking at Indy and her height just amazes me! People think she's three and she just turned two. Then there's the babe, who will be petite all her life but her eyes say something so much more. You look into her eyes and you know she's thinking...thinking large and big about this complex life we live in. She can't possibly verbalize what her eyes share with the world. I honestly don't think she'd want to, even if she could.

Did you see the Grammys the other night? I was happy to see Amy pick up so many awards for her amazing talent. I don't think she was in her best form for the performance (but it was 4ish in the morning London time, so I think she should be forgiven). I hope these wins help her to realize just how much she can do and that being cracked out all the time is just going to take all that away.

Smut Meme (tagged)

Wow! I haven't been tagged in a while. Smut, huh? Haven't talked trash in a while either. This should be interesting. Who tagged me? Why, Buffoon, of course. Who shall I tag? How about GC and Icey (if they're up to it). Anyone is welcome to join this band wagon. Equal opportunity, right?

You're welcome to post it on your blogs. You must call it the Smut Meme, you must link to me in the beginning paragraph, and you must tag 2 people, and link to them as well. Oh, and you must post this little blurb of instructions at the beginning, as has been done here.

1. Chocolate or Whipped Cream:

I love both! And together? Oh, the possibilities! Hubby and I haven't indulged in "food love" in a long time. It's hard to be creative when kid could enter in anytime.

2. Leather or PVC:

I used to get these smut catalogs when I was a teenager. PVC clothing is huge "underground". There were even ads on how to have a PVC wedding! I never entertained the idea for my own sex life, once I began to have one. I'm a sweater and it just seems like you'd sweat buckets with that stuff on. I'll stick with the cow-hide (pleather, preferably.) Oh, and cow-hide if it died of natural causes, I suppose.

3. Outdoor Sex or Indoor Sex:

Indoor. I have an issue with critters joining in.

4. In the Jacuzzi or In Bed?

Both! It's been a while since we've done it in water. Don't try this unless everything is "ready" or it could prove really uncomfortable.

5. Bad Sex or No Sex:

Yeesh! I'd rather have no sex than bad sex. I don't choose to, but I'd rather handle things "on my own" if these were the choices.

6. Dominate or Be Dominated:

Can't we take turns?

7. Thigh highs or Bodystocking:

Neither. Both would just get in the way.

8. Fast or Slow:

Depends on my mood.

9. Rough or Gentle:

See #8

10. Bite or Suck:

Hubby likes both. No biting sensitive areas on my end, please.

11. Role play or Reality:

Reality. Hubby and I have talked about it, but I think I would just laugh the entire time. I'm too honest for my own good, I guess.

12. Dirty Talking or Dirty Talking To:

Hubby likes me to talk dirty, but I feel so fake when I do. He's always asking, though. If it's directed at me? I don't care either way.

13. Edible panties or No Panties:

I'd rather not wear much of anything. I'm waiting for the "Garden of Eden" days to return.

14. Spanking paddle or Bare-handed:

None of the above.

15. Landing Strip or Kojak:

Right now, things are a little wild, but I'm for the Kojak look, thanks.

16. Multiple Sessions or One Good F*&%:

Multiple sessions. When I've got the energy, 2 or 3 hours is great!

17. Moaning or Screaming:

Compulsive talkers like me make noise. This has caused kid curiosity. I've had to tone it down a lot since the kids came into the picture.

18. Older (Wo)men or Young (Wo)men:

Older, please.

19. Threeway or No Way:

If I weren't married? Who knows!

20. Swing or No Swinging:

Nah, I don't like to share.

Good-bye, Old Friend

Last week, our offices got hit with a virus/worm but it only affected a few people (myself included). Initially, it appeared that the critter didn't do any damage. Our firewalls and virus scans seemed to stop it in its track. As the days progressed, little problems began to emerge and the virus was no longer a thing of the past. It was ever present and quite mischievous. So, I'm working along yesterday when I get an IM from my coworker:

"Hey, are you there?"

"Yep! What's up?"

"S___ just came over and said that IT is going to reimage our computers tomorrow. So, if there's anything you want to keep, you better get it off today."

"Really?"

"Yeah. They gave me a thumb disk to move my files off."

"I've got one, but it's only 128MB. I guess I'll be running back and forth to my desktop for a bit."

So, I did. For two hours I ran back and forth moving files I didn't want to lose. Want to know what most of those files were? Not documents, not pictures, not programs but music. I had tons of music on my computer. More than I ever thought was on it. Those files are huge and with my itty bitty flash drive, it was just back and forth, back and forth for what seemed like forever. Oh, well. At least I have all of my stuff. I hope they'll give me a loaner flash drive that's a bit bigger so that I can move everything back in one go. My coworker said they have one that has about 1 gig, so I'll be looking to use that sucker if I can.

I went over to the IT area just now and saw my work laptop. It seemed so foreign to me. All my desktop documents, pictures, sounds and everything...gone. I know even after I move my files back on I'm sure to have missed something. It will never be the same computer it once was. To bring in a movie reference, I'm reminded of Star Trek: Nemesi.s where the real Data sacrifices himself on a ship and the copy Data is left to remain on the Enterprise. The copy is just that. A copy. Images and traces of the original, but certainly not the original. Am I too sentimental over inanimate objects? You bet I am. The only good thing I can see out of this (besides the killing of the worm) is that my machine will probably be one hundred times faster without all of my stuff on it.
